Hi, when i turn on wifi and searching, then wififofum crashes.
I have iPAQ 514 with WM6 standart. Do you have any advice?
is there an error message?
No, Wififofum just exits. And when I have wifi turned on and try to strat Wififofum, after "splashscreen" it crashes too. When i turn off wifi, open wififofum and stop scanning, turn on wifi, no problem. But when i start searching, it crashes to homescreen with no message.
Start searching = enable scanning. I found, that others with ipaq 514 can run wififofum with no problems even with GPS. But someone has the same problem as me.
Other people who said it vanished managed to get it working by first creating an ad hoc wifi network and then running wfff. That wasn't on your phone though.
Sorry, i dont speak english well. So what I have to do to use wfff on my phone? Thx.
Go in wifi connections and choose add new network and tick this is an ad hoc connection. Then choose it and click connect.
I, also, am having problems with WFFF crashing & closing immediately after it opens. If I enable my wifi before opening WFFF it will crash and close immediately after. If I open it BEFORE enabling my wifi it will stay open but I am unable to get the wifi to connect. I attempted to ad hoc connection the wifi ignores it and connects to a known wifi connection. No error messages either. It either crashes or will not allow the wifi to turn on. Any other possible remedies?
BTW, I have an HP iPAQ 111 Classic with Windows Mobile 6, if that helps with finding a solution.
Thanks!

I have the same issue on an Asus MyPal A696 PDA with the latest Windows Mobile 6 Classic. The ad-hoc network trick didn't do anything. The program just dies as soon as it tries to access the wireless adapter (as soon as I select Scan Enabled and the 5 second seek time that I've set passes, the program exits).
I tested it on an Eten X500 with Windows 6 and it works there without problems.
I hope the developer has time to look into this problem and solve it, because WiFiFoFum is a really great program and I'd be very happy to be able to use it.
Same issue with ETen Glofiish X600 (WM6)...
Hi, I have the same problem on an iPAQ 114 with WM6. Is there any solution available? I would be happy if yes. Because this software seems to be very useful (if working). The workaround to create and to connect to an ad hoc network do not work.
Yup same problem here also.
If wifi is already running the program closes almost right away.
If enable wifi after I start the program it may or may not work for a few moments. It will crash as soon as I try to change views.
I have a HP iPAQ 111 Classic with Windows Mobile 6, Have tried the above adhoc solution with no luck. Was running previously on a Ipaq 1950 with no problems.
We need a fix
I posted too soon. I have been able to get WFFF to the usable state on my ipaq Classic 111.
Hope this helps
- Always make sure the wireless is dissabled when accessing tools menu
- Go into tools/optons, select the list tab and turn off "Use WM5 soft buttons"
This should give you two icons aT the bottom of the the screen while running WFFF to switch between list and radar views.
- Under the scanner tab select aggressive scanning.
Unless this is selected WFFF seems to just read the signal once as the radar/list views do not seem to update with new information.
- Once I did this I can now launch and use WFFF with wirless enabled or dissabled at startup.
- Don't forget WFFF will crash if tools is selected with wireless enabled.
I'm suprized no one at WFFF has worked on his, hmmmmm maybe its posted elseware.
Good luck ! :0)
